About the Event

We all know that running a business can be isolating at times, so getting together with other people in our industry is invaluable. If you're not already a member of the Children's Activities Association, we'd love for you to come along and meet us all, as well as learn more about the Children's Activities Association's mission and goals for the children's activities sector.

We are thrilled to announce that Jane James, CEO and Founder of "Little Voices," and Sarah Cressall, Founder and MD of "Creation Station" will be hosting another online meeting on behalf of the Children's Activities Association.

This meeting's focus will be on 'inclusivity and diversity,' something that the CAA champions wholeheartedly. So this Regional Meeting is free to attend for everyone. The more activity providers we can get together to talk about how we make groups and classes more inclusive the better. So please, help us get the word out to as many activity providers as possible by sharing the event and invitation with your networks and across your social media accounts.

Helen Capodici will be delivering a guest presentation on "Accessibility vs Inclusivity" where she will cover:

  • Tips around language
  • Difference between accessibility and inclusion
  • Practical hints and tips
  • Being professionally curious
  • Ensuring a psychologically safe environment for feedback

Helen has worked with Caudwell Children for the past 2 years as their Learning & Development Manager, training staff on areas such as de-escalation techniques, person-centered approaches, and autism awareness, as well as ensuring all mandatory training is up to date and sourced effectively.

Previously to this role, she worked in a high school as an Examinations Officer, liaising closely with the SEN team to support children with additional needs, and has worked with adults with disabilities as an Activities Coordinator in the local area. Helen lives at home with her husband, her ‘energetic’ 4 year old son, and her dog.
