About the CAA
The Voice of the Children's Activities Sector

The children’s activities sector, encompassing around 30,000 providers, is currently unregulated. While many providers meet high standards, without regulation, there is no consistent assurance of safeguarding, first aid, compliance, and accountability.

Which is where the Children’s Activities Association (CAA) comes in. We are an industry-led not-for-profit that works with over 2,000 activity providers nationwide, acting as an umbrella organisation across all types of children’s activities.

We bring together activity providers from a wide range of disciplines, providing guidance, resources, and a nationally recognised benchmark for safeguarding, wellbeing, and best practice. Our mission is to raise standards and promote self-regulation throughout the industry.

We support all activity providers, from individual coaches or educators to independent providers to large-scale franchises, across all genres of activities, to create safer environments for children, while supporting the growth of their businesses. Providing a community that offers support and encourages industry-wide collaboration.

The CAA Certified Member badge assures parents, schools, nurseries, and venues that an activity provider has evidenced that they meet the CAA's industry-recognised benchmark.

Accredited members have evidenced that they have gone a step further, demonstrating ongoing development of their sessions, underpinned by a commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of the children attending.

We work with schools, nurseries and venues to help them make informed decisions when selecting third-party activity providers. CAA-Affiliated schools, nurseries and venues agree to ensure that any provider they engage either holds CAA Certification or, at minimum, can demonstrate they meet the key safety and safeguarding fundamentals outlined in the CAA checklist.
"We believe that Children's Activities Providers are at the heart of local communities, and it has never been more important to give parents peace of mind" - Mike Dodd, Chair
