About the Event
Raising standards and keeping children safe is at the core of the Children's Activities Association. All children's activity providers have a duty of care to the children that attend their groups and classes to promote their welfare and keep them safe. The safeguarding legislation across the whole of the United Kingdom states you must have arrangements in place to safeguard children.
All organisations should have a minimum of one Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who takes lead responsibility for any safeguarding and child protection issues.
Ann Marie Christian, Safeguarding Expert will be running whole day DSL training on Wednesday 31st January 9.30 am - 4.00 pm at Morton Michel's offices in Croydon. The training will cover:
- Safeguarding in our setting
- Legislation and guidance
- Roles and responsibilities of the DSL
- Thresholds of child protection
- The referral process
- Multi-agency work
- Creating a culture of safeguarding
