Would you know what to do if a first aid incident occurred in your class?

By Mini First Aid

At Mini First Aid we know more than most that accidents happen in the most unlikely of circumstances. Throw in a group of busy children who are dancing, crafting, playing sport and baking and unfortunately, you have the perfect recipe for a first aid incident. We really don’t want to scare you – but we do want you to consider how you or your team would cope in a first aid emergency.

It doesn’t matter if that first aid incident in class is a grazed knee, splinter or something more serious like a burn or head injury – parents are going to look to YOU as the room leader for help. Don’t underestimate the impact a uniformed member of staff in a position of authority has on an individual’s response to a first aid situation. Put yourself in the parents’ shoes – you’ve turned up to a paid for session with a uniformed expert in that field leading your kids through the activity – it’s not surprising then that all eyes and ears will turn towards YOU, the ‘person in charge’, the moment a problem occurs, with the expectation that you will be equipped to deal with the situation.

At Mini First Aid we frequently say its better to know it and not need it, than need it and not know it, and this is exactly one of those scenarios. You’ve got a whole room of expectant faces looking at you to deliver – add into that the panic and alarm when a first aid situation occurs and we can tell you from experience that you are going to want to know EXACTLY how to handle it.

That’s where our workplace courses come in. Our Paediatric First Aid (PFA) courses are First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) accredited, and are available with blended online learning options to fit around your busy lifestyle. We even offer specialist courses for those of you who deliver outdoor activities. Our hands-on, memorable and engaging training is designed to maximise recall of first aid techniques when you most need them. With over 1 million people trained in our first 10 years AND a 5 star rating on Trustpilot, you can trust Mini First Aid to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence you will rely on when danger strikes.
