At Ignite! 2025, AdSmart from Sky's Kurt Edwards delivered 2 interesting presentations:
What trends are we seeing in media consumption for young families?
Where he shared some pretty shocking findings from their survey amongst households with kids aged 0-9 years old:
On average, kids aged 0-4 years spend 7 hrs per day on screens (7X the recommended)
54% of kids are playing mobile games, who spend on average 82 mins per day playing
And some useful ones if you're looking to reach young families:
Subscription VOD accounts for almost half of Internet usage
59% use the internet to "keep up to date with the area that I live" every month
74% use the internet for "hobbies & personal interests" every month
Co-viewing content strengthens family bonds, and 80% of parents say their child has asked for a product seen in an ad while co-viewing
He discussed using multiple touchpoints to successfully build your brand and the roles different platforms play when thinking about your media choices.
